An in-depth study of this subject has been needed for a long time. Finally, this course will dig deep into implications provided in history and the Hebrew/Christian understanding of these writings.
3102 Ethics in an Unethical World — Jimmilea Berryhill, DPhil:
What does ethics actually mean and is the application of personal ethics really possible or necessary today? These are the questions argued in every arena from corporate world to classroom, and from home front to battlefront. No idea is more important for believers today, yet few leaders can tell you what ethics is or how it relates to their life.
3103 Archaeology I — Steve Lancaster, MA, ThM:
Archeology is vital to the study of the history of the Middle Eastern world. Archeology has been the primary factor in giving scientific support to Biblical stories. This fascinating study will add support to the faith of the student. Understanding elemental factors concerning research into the past is necessary for the world of believers today.
3104 History of Jerusalem:
Continuing with the beauty of Jerusalem from Level One, this study provides a timeline of the history of Jerusalem. From its most glorious days to the days of its destruction, to the days of hope in a new Israel, the hand of the Almighty is visible in every event and provision. The rich history of this small area of the globe will add reverence for how God has brought the attention of the world to this city throughout history.
3105 Introduction to the Dead Sea Scrolls — Judith Fain, MA:
Although this study will only scratch the surface of this subject, students are introduced to the wonder of these marvelous finds and how miraculously they have been protected, studied, and preserved.

Women; their roles and their woes are given a new light in this historically supported course. Documentation surrounds this study. Women destined to find their own work and worship gives excitement to this study in the historical roles of women. The study also identifies philosophies and theories that dictate the role of women today. How, In the light of Scripture women can be restored.
3207 Israel Today — Mark Gentry, MA:
Contemporary Israel; the complications of its existence and the origins of its authority challenge the student to examine all aspects of this tiny nation and to pray for the inhabitants of this tiny land. Political, spiritual, racial, and geographical elements make up this study that will bring clarity to many misunderstood messages prevalent in both the secular and religious world.
3208 Talmud and Mishnah — An Introduction — Judith Fain, MA:
Although these two Jewish works have been denied most Christians, they hold important elements to our understanding of the Hebrew mind and of the Jews of the first century. This overview of these works will bring insight to Scripture and to the history of the faith from a new perspective.

Spending time with these Jewish holy men will delight the student, bring greater reverence for God, and will lead the student to see the prophet as more than a ‘super hero’ but rather to view each one with a new compassion their passion to see Israel live for God.

No idea is more important for believers today yet few leaders, let alone the father, mother, or child can tell you what ethics is or how it relates to their life.

No history course is complete without an elementary understanding of Archeology, and this course is even more vital in the study of the history of the Middle Eastern world. Archeology has been the primary factor in giving scientific support to Biblical stories. This fascinating study will add support to the faith of the student. 3104 Hebrew Language Study Skills III — Douglas Wheeler, PhD, ThD:
The importance of Hebrew Language study skills practice is the concern of this study. The student is led to polish the skills learned in Study Skills I and II and to become more confident in the use of research aids in interpretation. Again, the emphasis is on Hebraic thought in understanding and applying vital passages of Scripture.

Although great effort is given to methodology in education, the core differences in learning stem from basic philosophies of life. This course addresses the major avenues of thought in educational circles and looks back to ancient Israel for patterns of learning that might be helpful in addressing old problems with new ways of thinking.

3105 Preparation for Internship — Sue Mackrill, MA:
As director of the educational internship program, Professor Mackrill will design and direct a full semester’s program for the intern. During this final course before serving a semester at the Sword of the Spirit School (SOS), Omaha, Nebraska, the student will be instructed in the program of teaching at SOS and will be introduced to the procedures and faculty where the internship will be completed.
This coursework for the Christian Education Degree will not be accepted for teacher certification or licensure in the State of Arkansas.

CORE THREE
Guided classroom and research study under the direction of Sue Mackrill, M.A., Sword of the Spirit School, Omaha, Nebraska, provides preparation for teaching in a Christian setting. Each course is specifically designed and directed by Professor Mackrill. All educational courses beginning with level three, semester two, are conducted at Sword of the Spirit Christian School, Omaha, Nebraska.
Each Christian Education student is required to spend two, two-week periods in the Omaha class-room during level three, semester two, at the convenience of the Sword of the Spirit School and the student.
This coursework for the Christian Education degree will not be accepted for teacher certification or licensure in the State of Arkansas.
3106 Philosophy of Christian Education — Judith Nusse, M.A.:
This course explores the distinctions between Christian and Secular education and provides the philosophical foundation for Christian Education with particular reference to Biblical texts and historical precedents in the training of children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Included are the Yeshiva and the Puritan schools established in the early Colonial period, on up through Home-schooling and Sunday school movements of later American history.
3107 Classroom Instruction I — Sue Mackrill, M.A.:
This course is a practicum in classroom teaching in a Christian school under the mentorship of experienced teachers.
3108 Tests and Measurements — Judith Nusse, M.A.:
This course teaches the preparation and perspective of assessment in Christian Education.
3109 Marriage and Family — Sue Mackrill, M.A.:
This course provides the perspective of Christian Education as related to the families of both students and teachers in the Christian school.
3110 Biblical Leadership — Mark Gentry, M.A.:
Principles of leadership taken from the Bible are applied to Christian education.
